Newly discovered from Malaysia, found close associated with Anisian ammonoids (Middle Triassic). Frenguilliela tonurensis were introduced and described by Kobayashi & Tamura (1966) based on single specimen found on Carnian rock strata (Late Triassic) in Tonur, Japan.
